Hygiene films

For many years, Mediane has been active in the sales and marketing of backsheet films, cloth-like breathable backsheet but also the production of diaper packaging materials. All made out of conventional oil based non-renewable resources.

The growing world population and the subsequent refuse of disposable products worldwide is a concern. Sustainable production and the use of renewable raw materials in the Hygiene Disposal Industry are unavoidable. The Hygiene industry, specifically, should take the environment, society and mankind into account and take its responsibility.

Mediane has decided to fully focus on FILMS and BAGS, made out of starch polymers, extracted from potatoes, away from conventional plastics and fossil fuels, raising the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and adding up to the greenhouse effect and environmental issues.

Potato Starch is produced from carbon dioxide and water, grows in sunlight and is 100% compostable.

Our films are also DIN CERTCO certified in accordance with EN 13432 and carry the seedling logo. When printed, we have the possibility to use environmentally friendly printing inks.
